Ruth Johnston is a BC-based children’s writer who likes rhyme and whimsy. She is inspired by magic and mischief, danger and adventure but also likes to write about family (especially annoying brothers, of which she has had lots of experience!), friends, and messy food. Her favourite colour is purple, her favourite ice cream flavour is chocolate peanut butter, and she likes snowy winters and soft boots. She is really good at Mario Kart, although she’s a little out of practice now that she has two babies and spends most of her time chasing them around!
Ruth Johnston lives in the Okanagan Valley, in a house with rose bushes in the front garden, with her husband and two small children. She’s busy writing poems for a full-length book. Right now you can read her poems in Small Wonder, a quarterly magazine for kids and their grown-ups.
